'LOVE YOU MUM' PLEASE NOTE: These words are provided for the express purpose of study only and no permission is granted for further use without the prior written permission of the author Frances Macaulay Forde. First a short story written in the early nineties then adapted to a film script in 2000. Three scripts were offered to the students of the Adelaide Centre for the Arts in mid-2006; "Overtime", "Love You Mum" and "Die Bruike". The same three scripts were sent to students at Curtin University in Perth and shortlisted but not chosen. "Love you Mum" was one of the final three shortlisted from a total of 47 received. Produced in September 2006, the film premiered in Adelaide in December 2006. LOVE YOU MUM ~ DVD How would you feel if someone you loved were dying? Sister Evans is usually in control with her special skills, but in this case, Security stops her before she can help. A short film (18 mins) written by Frances Macaulay Forde Directed by David Ockenden & Produced by Matt Pearson. 'Love You, Mum' premiered in Adelaide on the 14th December 2006 and was very well received. I'm told there were tears and talk of festivals to enter... ( detailsof awards on main LYM page) So first up were the 2007 SA Short Screen Awards and 7 nominations, then the YAP Awards with another 7 nominations and wins for BEST FILM and also BEST PERFORMANCE for Bridget Walters. 'Love You Mum' ventured overseas and won BEST DRAMA at the International Student Film Festival in California and was broadcast in 3 US states. Selected to screen at the 2007 First Take International Student Film Festival in Toronto Canada in July, 2007. Wins a BRONZE PLAQUE from the Film Council of Greater Columbus Ohio, USA to be presented on 10th November 2007. Selected to screen at the International Student Film Festival HOLLYWOOD and will be judged at the NOHO Arts District of North Hollywood, CA, USA November 14-18th 2007.
