BYTE ME Festival ~ 2 to 9th Dec 2007

http://byteme.net.au/

Thanks so much for the invitiation to the Official Opening of the BYTE ME festival to KAT BLACK: the inspirational orgaizer of Perth's inaugural BYTE ME FESTIVAL being held between the 2nd to 9th December.

It was wonderful to hear The New Lady Mayoress LISA SCAFFIDI support and position the City of Perth as a creative celebration centre.

The Honourable Minister for Industry and Enterprise, FRANCIS LOGAN also placed himself firmly supporting Digital Content as a career move and the development of Computer Content and Gaming to take advantage of the current resources boom in WA.

As a writer and member of the AWG, I was particularly interested in hearing the former Chairperson of the Australia Writers Guild MEGAN ELLIOT talk.

And she certainly did; at about at a million miles an hour Megan spoke on the WRITERS STRIKE effecting Hollywood; Spiderman with a Chinese face and unlimited possibilities presented by the exciting developments and opportunities for Digital Content in AustralAsia, China and India.

But the piece de resistance for me was a fantastic surprise performer : BOBBY FLYNN.

We've been fans of his ever since he first appeared on Australian Idol so although I appreciated the audience had loads to talk about, I was one who didn't talk, who just listened and enjoyed his unique sound lost in the world of Bobby Flynn!

So thanks again KAT BLACK - if the Opening is anything to go by, the festival will be inspiring, exciting and informative.
