The first draft was most kindly read by two very busy and prominent producers in the Eastern States. It was recently favourably assessed by AWG. A FULL assessment with DEVELOPMENT NOTES of my 5th Draft was done by Jared Morris of Script Assessment & Development. Comments received: No Strings "stood head and shoulders above others out there." CURRENT LOGLINE: (still working here...) " A suburban princess diving champion's dreams are dashed ~ but friends help her find a new voice and a new dream." CURRENT SHORT SYNOPSIS: (still working here too...) "Young champion diver Xanthe, doesn't have much free time, except for her bestie from primary school Julia. Can their princess promises survive different schools, new friends or Xanthe's crush on Julia's Felix? When Xanthe's diving dreams are threatened, it's her friends who help her find a new voice and the possibilities of a famous future." __________________________________________________________________ In January, 2006 a call went out for 5min scripts from the producers of Marx & Venus. Frances attended the talk by Geoffrey Atherton & submitted three scripts. Over 1700 were received from around the country, only 25 were chosen for production, none of which were the three submitted. In the meantime, Colin Reck chose her script 'Love You Mum' (see news above) out of 47 others for 2nd semester 2006 for his Screen Production Diploma students at the Adelaide Centre for the Arts. The 18min film premiered in Adelaide on 14th December 2006 to 'great applause and talk of festivals'. "I'm thrilled with the result! I have to keep reminding myself 'Love You Mum' is a student production, because it was so well done. The actors were perfectly cast and absolutely convincing (and stuck to the script)! Matt, the producer, David (the director) and the crew were amazing too - well done everyone! The film has been well received, winning nominations and awards on level platforms both here and overseas and continues to surprise and delight us all" with it's success." Frances. PAC Screen workshops: I recently took part in the PAC SWS1 run by Annie Murtagh-monks for Actors, Directors and Writers. Four different groups of participants are working with my scripts - two-page excerpts from my Marx & Venus competition entries & one written speciifcally for actors to use in the workshop. (Short video of one of my scripts used in the acting workshops 'Remote' available to view on MY SPACE.) Student Support: Three groups of Film Students from Curtin University are looked at using three short scripts for semester productions; "Overtime" and "Surf Saver" were shortlisted. One group have taken one of my scripts for their independant project ~ entitled 'Die Brucke'. I''m thoroughly enjoying my roles as assistant moderator and participant in the AWG On-Line Scriptwriting Group where we share, learn and critique each other's writing. I find reading such accomplished scripts and watching them evolve, totally inspiring. ____________________________________________________________________________ Resources: Unfortunately the scripts previously linked here have been removed because they are now in production.
