Frances will be available to chat about and read poetry at BURNS BEACH CAFE, Burns Beach, Western Australia, most Mondays and Thursdays between 10 and 11am until August 2013.

XMAS STORY:  'Santa's Swim'  COLOURING COMPETITION at the AVON VALLEY WRITER'S FESTIVAL: winner receives signed copy.

'Santa's Swim': 1st version of the book was written and illustrated by Frances in 2005, and is currently at the printers (avail. Sept 2012) but is also finding a new life as an animated script.


POETRY:  Her poetry has been published in anthologies, on the web and in poetry journals.

TOY SOLDIER

The screen adaptation of an original murder mystery novel set in the south west of Western Australia by Frances Macaulay Forde.


Although she enjoys writing short stories, they always seem to end up as scripts...

Frances has many other scripts in many lengths from 1min with no dialogue, to feature length, to TV Series Bible - so please CONTACT her directly.


POEMS & ARTWORK

Frances also enjoys writing to the work of artists, inspired by images and colours:

"'All The Pretty Ones Are"  the 3rd exhibition of art by her daughter Jessica McCallum will be held on 11- 20th November 2011 ~ State Theatre Centre, Perth City, WA.

Frances has also supported disabled art by writing to many images for Creative Connection Exhibitions held in 2007 & 2008. Her poems were also published in chapbooks to help raise funds.

CHILDREN'S STORIES & POEMS have been published in various mediums:

AWARD WINNING:

"Have you thought about what lives in your swimming pool?"

'The Swimming Pool People' won the FAWWA Furphy Award in 1994 for 'Best Children's Book Manuscript' and was later adapted to the stage and performed during Little Feet Festival in Joondalup, by Northern Youth Theatre.

Frances is currently adapting the book to film ~ now called 'The Poolies' and is looking for a publsher/producer.

YOUTH THEATRE:

As the Artistic Director of Northern Youth Theatre, Frances helped her members write, produce, direct and perform plays & cabaret events. Later as editor, she helped the members put together a magazine about their activities.'NYT Cont...'

'Mr Panda's Tea Party' was written as a Series Bible for 10min episodes and is an excellent project for a gentle style of children's television.


 

She's also writing another series for children called 'Baggies' conceived while living in Ireland.

'As plastic shopping bags are phased out, designer and re-usable bags take the stage...'
